7 Mature Yet Gorgeous Elle Fanning Looks
Ready to feel like really, really old, guys? Elle Fanning is all grown up. Yes, that Elle Fanning — the previously pint-sized actress who's wispy blonde hair and baby blue eyes first graced movie screens when she was only three. Dakota's little sister is 17, aka, officially old enough to drive, see the R-rated movies she's starred in, and be interviewed by the police without an adult present (yeah, I had to Google that one...).
But the younger Fanning stopped being known as "Dakota's little sister" awhile back. The actress has forged her own path in the industry, starring in critically-acclaimed movies, being nominated for tons of prestigious awards, and becoming a real-life Disney Princess. Her best role yet? An untouchable, impossibly chic, red carpet risk taker.
Remember how scary it was to take fashion risks when you were in high school? At 17, wear anything out of the ordinary or utterly unique and you were basically thrown to the preppy wolves. You'd expect Hollywood's elite to be a million times more brutal, but Elle Fanning knows no fear. From '70's wide leg trousers, to flouncy Chanel sleeves, to a purple printed menswear suit, she rocks it all with more confidence than most adults ever could. The girl has already taken a lifetime of sartorial chances, and she's not event two decades old. Just check these eight looks that prove Fanning is all grown-up.
1. In Marchesa
While you were in homecoming party dresses, Elle was all about the gowns.
2. A Cotton Candy Confection
Meanwhile, I would look about seven in head-to-toe pastel ruffles, but it's fine...
3. A '90-inspired crop top
I might be just slightly jealous that my mom never let me expose my midriff in public as a teen.
4. Oscar de la Renta
It took me many more years to learn that a tailored black pant equals legs for days.
5. Chanel
Proof that Elle really isn't a teenager, she's an ethereal Disney princess. Sorry but no 17-year-old is so graceful that she can pull off layers of heavy Chanel lace.
6. At the 24th Annual GLAAD Awards
I just really want to be this cool, guys.
7. Miu Miu
Seriously, do you know anyone brave enough to even attempt a purple, '70's inspired menswear suit?!
At 22, I've come to the conclusion that I will probably never look this polished. Kudos, Elle.
