See the Cover of 'Notorious R.B.G'

by Caroline Goldstein

Calling all feminist politicos and meme junkies! The cover of “Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg” has been revealed. It’s majestic, sharp, and hard-hitting, just like the Supreme Court Justice herself. (It also features gold-foil lettering, something that RBG unfortunately does not.)

The biography will be released in October. It's co-authored by MSNBC reporter Irin Carmon and NYU law student Shana Knizhink, who created the viral Tumblr that started it all (and of which RBG is reportedly a fan).

Although Ginsburg has been a Supreme Court Justice since 1993, she's risen to viral fame in recent years due to her fierce advocation of gender equality and defense of women's reproductive rights. That uncompromising position — as evidenced in her dissent on last year's Hobby Lobby decision, in which the court ruled that employers are not responsible for covering their employees' birth control if it conflicts with their religious beliefs — earned Ginsburg a flattering likening to the rapper Notorious B.I.G. and everlasting Internet fame.

A blurb on Notorious RBG says:

NOTORIOUS RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg offers a visually rich, intimate, unprecedented look at the Justice and how she changed the world. From Ginsburg’s refusal to let the slammed doors of sexism stop her to her innovative legal work, from her before-its-time feminist marriage to her perch on the nation’s highest court — with the fierce dissents to match — get to know BG as never before.

Maybe this will incentivize Ben & Jerry's to make Ruth Bader Ginger ice cream a thing?
