I don't know what it is about two successful women being friends that threatens people, but the media sure loves to tear celebrity BFFs down. The latest casualty of the feud rumor mill is Taylor Swift and Lorde. But fortunately for everyone, Taylor Swift and Lorde are not fighting, and they are still the best friends any girl could want. After reports surfaced that Lorde dissed Swift's music, T. Swift took to Twitter on Monday to clear up the rumors.
"Media, when you say 'Lorde & Taylor are fighting' — by fighting do you mean 'FaceTiming constantly from US to NZ and LOLing at you'? Thnx bye," Swift tweeted. Lorde followed up soon after with a tweet of her own. "Sisters are doin' it for themselves @taylorswift13," the New Zealand singer wrote.
It's not unusual for a famous friendship to be subject to feud rumors, but I am surprised that Lorde and Swift were the target of such falsities. After all, their friendship is pretty rock solid. It may have started off on shaky ground with Lorde saying, “Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls." But ever since Swift sent her flowers to congratulate her on her "Royals" success, the two have been the best of BFFs. Just look at all the times their friendship was adorable.

Not only do the ladies share their music with each other before showing anyone else, but Lorde has even said in an interview that she'd love to collaborate with Swift. "Yeah we are [different] but I think the cool thing about Taylor is she is pretty willing to go a lot of places with music," Lorde said. "I think that last record [Red] in particular, everyone was like ‘Woah.' And I think with an artist like her, the sky is the limit."
So get out of here with the feud rumors, tabloids. Sworde (that's their friendship name that I just made up) is here to stay.
