If you're one of those rare few who was able to get through Paul Walker tribute song that played during the credits of Furious 7 , I hope you've already patted yourself on the back for that accomplishment, because you're about to be taken down by the new music video for Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again". In case you aren't up-to-date on this situation, the Fast and Furious franchise always plays a song at the end of every movie, and, this time around, it was written to honor Walker, who died on Nov. 30, 2013 before he'd completed filming on the seventh movie. The song has lyrics like...
It’s been a long day without you my friendAnd I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again
...which immediately makes it hard to take even when it's just words, but nearly impossible to handle when accompanied by images of Walker throughout the franchise's 14 year history. And that's exactly what happens in the video. We see Khalifa walking down a road alone, and, gradually, clips from the movies start getting cycled in. There are clips of Walker behind the wheel, kissing Jordana Brewster, talking and laughing with the rest of his costars. It's pretty tough to take, especially when you consider how close the cast became with each other. I mean, they filmed together for over a decade, so you can understand lines like this:
How can we not talk about family when family’s all we gotEverything I went through you were standing there by my sideAnd now you gonna be with me for the last ride
Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope, can't do it.
Call me when you aren't trying to break my heart in two and leave it steaming on the sidewalk. Ugh.
