What *Could* Happen During Season 2 Of 'Saul'
How does Jimmy McGill become Saul Goodman? That's what what we're slowly learning over the course of the first season of Better Call Saul . It honestly feels like Better Call Saul just started, but one chapter of this prequel is already in the books. With the end of Season 1 airing Monday night, now's the perfect time to look ahead and make some predictions for Better Call Saul Season 2.
This first season of Better Call Saul has been a lot of background information and set-up. Sure, we came into it already knowing about Saul Goodman, but we knew little about his predecessor, Jimmy. What even caused Jimmy to switch over to the dark side and represent Albuquerque's finest? That's something we really haven't seen happen yet — sure, we've got little pieces of the bigger puzzle, but there's still so much that needs to happen between now and the era of Walter White.
The best thing about figuring all this out is the obvious: Better Call Saul has already been renewed for that sweet second season. In fact, the order came down the line from AMC before Better Call Saul even premiered. With more Saul coming our way, we might as well get excited for it as early as possible. Jimmy would advise us to be prepared, right?
We'll Get A Quick Glimpse Of Walter White
Let's be honest, we've been waiting for this. Bryan Cranston has expressed his desire to get back to Albuquerque, so it'll happen. However, it won't be anything long and drawn out, and we might not even realize it's happening at first. Remember, Saul and Jimmy don't meet until Breaking Bad's second season. So we can't actually meet Mr. White during Better Call Saul. More than likely, it'll be something super fast and in the background — maybe it's simply Jimmy taking his car through the A1 Car Wash. But it's going to happen.
Mike Will Flex His Muscles
Not like, "check out these guns, ladies." Instead, Mike will probably start getting more and more jobs as hired muscle. He's already started getting into Albuquerque's underbelly, but when does he officially start at Saul's "cleaner"?
Also, Please More Scenes With Mike, His Granddaughter, And The Dog
Mike talked about his granddaughter, Kaylee, a few times during Breaking Bad. We knew he loved her a lot. So yes, it's awesome seeing him interact with her now, and that dog. I feel like Mike should always have a dog. Here's this big, tough guy with a tiny little scrappy dog. If Better Call Saul gets its own spin-off, I hope it's just a story about Mike and that dog out on the open road, lookin' for trouble.
Something Awful Will Happen to Jimmy
Jimmy's not a bad guy. He's not a bad lawyer; he's got a heart. When we meet Saul, though, he's still got a heart, but he's out for money. He's defending only the worst of Albuquerque, knowing that he can make big bucks out of it. The big question is: how did he get there?
Something's going to happen to Jimmy that will give him that push that turns him from struggling to successful. But what is it? Does something happen to Kim? What drives him to abandon defending the old people to defending the criminals?
Speaking of Kim...
The thing about knowing what happens in Breaking Bad means that we know Kim isn't around for it. While she might not leave in the second season, it's a safe bet to guess that Better Call Saul will slowly start planting the seeds for her departure, whenever that may be and to wherever that may be.
Chuck Will Die
Well, maybe. We know that Chuck isn't around for the events that take place during Breaking Bad, so where is he? He and Jimmy are already on the cusp of a huge falling out, but they're still brothers. I'm doubtful they'd really turn their backs on one another for good. Something's gotta explain Chuck's absence and it might be because he's six feet under.
