Remember when Kerri Russell went and lopped off all her hair during the middle of shooting Felicity? Showrunners and audience members weren't happy, and the dramatic new look cost the show further seasons and a huge drop in viewership. "Never again!" shouted Hollywood, "Hair matters!" And never more so than in Game of Thrones , where death and nudity are almost as commonplace as a character with long, flowing locks. Save Arya, most female characters have hair down to their waists, and some of the boys also rock an impressive 'do. Yes, I'm referencing Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, and his always-ready-for-his-close-up mane.
Kit Harington actually had to sign a contract saying he wouldn't Ned Stark his beautiful curls. He told Live! With Kelly and Michael: "I didn’t realize [I was contractually obligated not to cut it] until recently and then I kind of, I wanted to cut it — I’ve had long hair for ages — and they were like, ‘No, no, no, that won’t be happening.’ Can we have four inches off or can we have an inch off? What can we do with this? How curly should it be? It gets silly."
But in 2014, Harington took on a role in Testament of Youth that required his usually wild tendrils to be cut, combed, and tamed into submission. And while some actors' come out the other side of a dramatic makeover looking, well, like they need a makeover, Hairington's new 'do is downright swoon-worthy.
Take a look at these contrasting set of photos. You remember him with this scruffy, untamed, who-has-time-to-shave-when-you're-guarding-The-Wall look.
But here's what he looks like in Testament of Youth, the coming of age WWI drama:
Maybe he's born with it. Maybe' its...
