If you're a fan of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, then you know how caring Yolanda Foster is, especially when it comes to her family and friends. Well, it appears that Yolanda Foster helped Avril Lavigne understand her Lyme disease, which goes to show you that even when it's not family, Foster will go above and beyond to help ease someone's pain. In an interview with Bravo's The Daily Dish, Foster opened up about how she came to the singer's aid in coping with the disease that she, too, is quite familiar with.
Foster said, "I took Avril under my wing when she first got sick and shared all I know." She added, "I am so proud of her for going public and helping us bring awareness to this debilitating disease."
On Wednesday, Lavigne shared her Lyme disease battle in an exclusive interview with People. Because of the symptoms that come with the sickness, Lavigne found herself "bedridden for five months." Now, she is on her way to recovery and already feels "80 percent better." Of course, she has a long road ahead of her, but the fact that she is opening up will no doubt help others dealing with the same thing.
For those unaware, Foster also battles Lyme disease and has talked publicly about it on more than one occasion. In January, the RHOBH star revealed that she "lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because [she] can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter.”
Like Lavigne, Foster struggles every day and is learning to cope with the disease. It doesn't surprise me that she helped the singer, because that's just the kind of caring and helpful person she is. It is always beneficial to talk with someone who understands exactly what you're going through. There's no doubt that these two women will be there for one another during their battles and the difficult times that come with it.
