While NBC's The Voice has so many standout vocalists this season, the coach relationship that always stands out the most is the one between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The Maroon 5 rocker and the country singer banter, trade insults, and eventually hug and kiss to make up. Blake and Adam are The Voice 's truest BFFs and they're so fun to watch. The two musicians (known in some circles as "Shevine") are both fiercely competitive when it comes to their teams on The Voice and coaching their singers, but at the end of the day, there's a lot of love between them,
"It's so foreign to see anything that's genuine on television these days. That's why I think so much attention is focused on Adam and I," Shelton told Rolling Stone . "You can tell we really like each other. We really are friends, and we're giving each other crap like we've known each other all our lives. I just think the world of that dude." Shelton has even gone as far as to say he has a "man crush" on Levine. "It blows me away people can pick up on that just by watching that on television," he told MTV News. "I want to kiss him. I want to kiss him so bad. I don’t care if it’s mutual or not. Can you honestly tell me that you don’t have a little bit of a crush on Adam? He’s sexy, is the word I’m using.”
As for the Maroon 5 frontman, Levine told Conan O'Brien, "Blake's my friend, my really good friend, and one of my best friends. Blake is so great and he's become a really close friend, so we can say super mean things about each other and it's not true. We know that, because we're joking." Levine has even visited Shelton's home in Oklahoma, which Levine called a large "compound" that looks like the movie Deliverance.
But don't call it a bromance — at least not to Levine. "It’s such a strange term, because it has romantic implications, so no," he told Jay Leno a few years ago on The Tonight Show. “Like Bro! No 'mance'! Just bro…no 'mance.' OK, fine, bromance!"
Even if it's not a bromance or love, Levine and Shelton are total Best Bros in so many different ways, but to really get a feel for how these two got so darn close, let's take it to a chart:
