Will Harry Styles Leave One Direction Too?

Boy band fans had their world rocked Wednesday when Zayn Malik announced that he was quitting One Direction, and these new rumors are making things worse. According to a new report from E! News, Harry Styles might quit One Direction as well. While Malik suggested that it was the lack of privacy and desire to live the life of a "normal 22-year-old" was the reason why he left the band, Styles alleged reasons are very different.

An insider told E! News that Styles may be interested in pursuing a solo career in music, citing the work he has done writing for artists like Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande. That makes some sense, but here's the weirdest part — the sources at E! News also allege that Styles wants to leave One Direction to pursue a career in acting. And that's why I'm calling out this rumor for being totally bogus.

Is Styles really going to give up a thriving music career to pursue the life of a Hollywood starlet? I'm thinking not — especially considering how invested he seems in working with not only the band, but with other artists. Styles might "love Los Angeles," as the source for E! News alleges, but that doesn't mean he's going to attempt to be the next Leonardo DiCaprio, even if he does have the right hair for it.

(I'm just sayin'.)

I know that everyone is freaking out over Zayngate, but let's not start thinking One Direction is automatically doomed. I'm sure there will come a time when One Direction dissolves, but never forget that even the Spice Girls lived on for a while after Ginger Spice said goodbye. I have a feeling that Styles won't jump ship just because Malik wanted out, and to speculate otherwise just seems a little extreme. I mean... they're still making money, right?
