Selena Gomez Loves Zedd's "Beautiful Eyes"

by Mallory Carra

Last Fall, Selena Gomez released "The Heart What It Wants," her melancholy hit single about breaking up with on-an-off-and-on-and-off again beau Justin Bieber. But this Spring, her heart seems to want someone new, and it looks like Gomez really might be dating German DJ Zedd. The 22-year-old actress/singer and the 25-year-old electronic dance music (EDM) DJ made beautiful music together for his new hit single "I Want You To Know," and they've been rumored to be doing the same in real life. And Gomez's recent comments about Zedd's "beautiful eyes" in an interview with Radio Disney this weekend are only adding fuel to the speculation.

"He's this cute little German, and he's got really beautiful eyes, and he's very sweet and funny,” Gomez told Alli Simpson. “I respect his vision because he has a way of knowing how important his role is as an EDM artist, and he doesn't spend most of his time traveling the world DJing." Aww! Sounds like she might be quite the smitten kitten for the Zedd, a protege of Skrillex who Forbes ranked as the 7th highest paid DJ of 2014. The duo have also been spotted together several events, including HBO's Golden Globes after party and just being super cute on Instagram.

At first, the photo was captioned "Harry to my Sally," as in the classic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally, starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal as longtime friends who eventually fall for each other over the years. But then the caption was removed and replaced with a smiley emoji. Was the first caption to revealing and tipped their hats at the Zomez pairing? Either way, I think the picture says it all — they're super cute together and are having fun.

Zedd and Gomez seem to have their own rom-com meet cute story, too. They met by chance when they were recording in the same building. "He and I met when we were recording using the same building and he needed to use my bathroom," she told MTV. "We ended up talking, sharing music, and it happened organically. He’s great, and he cares so much about the meaning of his songs."

Zedd even got an idea after the encounter. According to an interview with a Los Angeles radio station, the DJ thought to himself after meeting Gomez: "She’s cool. Maybe we should make a song."

And the rest is history.
