With 'Downton Abbey' Possibly Ending, What Does The Cast Have Lined Up For After The Show?
In sad news for everyone and their aunt, Downton Abbey may be ending after Season 6. This came shortly after the rumor that Maggie Smith would be leaving the show. Luckily for everyone, however, this of course won't be the end of Smith's career.
In fact, a bunch of fantastic British actors will be left without a job at the end of the series. Luckily, most of them have projects lined up in the upcoming years. Here's where the lords and ladies, and their servants, will be heading after Downton Abbey.
Laura Carmichael
Lady Crawley will star in the comedy Burn, Burn, Burn, which signifies a tonal shift in the actress’s career.
Maggie Smith
She’ll play the titular character in the upcoming The Lady in the Van in 2015, and she’ll hopefully have more movie roles coming up.
Michelle Dockery
Lady Mary will star in the Sci-fi thriller Self/less.
Brendan Coyle
Coyle already has another TV gig on the crime show Spotless .
Phyllis Logan
Logan will appear alongside Rowan Atkinson in a 2016 adaptation of David Copperfield, which should be great.
Elizabeth McGovern
She has a few film roles lined up, including Showing Roots alongside Uzo Aduba.
Sophie McShera
The actress seems to be gravitating toward mythic roles, with recent appearances in Cinderella and Galavant.
