It's Cool, Y'all. Ryan LOVES Sweatpants

As you may have heard, in a recent interview with Extra, Eva Mendes said sweatpants ruin marriages. The actress' words on sweatpants made headlines on Thursday because, well, people really love sweatpants and were probably in disbelief that Mendes would purposely avoid draping herself in their comfy amazingness. Well, on Thursday night, her partner and the father of her new baby daughter spoke out about the sweatpants quote and now the world can go back to business as usual. Ryan Gosling loves sweatpants. Carry on, everyone. All is right again.

To go back to Mendes' original words for those of you who need a refresher, she told Extra:

Sweatpants, no, no, no, no. No, no, you can’t do sweatpants. Ladies, No. 1 cause of divorce in America is sweatpants. No, you can’t do that.

I figured she was joking because, well, sweatpants aren't the No. 1 cause of divorce, but the sentiment that wearing sweatpants will make your significant other stray away concerned me. If you ask me, one of the most important things about being in a relationship with someone is being comfortable with each other. In an emotional way or whatever, but also, like, literally comfortable together. Why wouldn't you want your loved one to feel extra cozy while chilling on the couch?!

It seems that Gosling agrees, because he posted the following tweet on Thursday night:

Oh, yes, we do win, Gosling. (Yep, referring to myself as the collective Twitter. NBD.) Because now our minds are running wild with possibilities. If Ryan Gosling wears sweatpants and tweets, why haven't we seen him in sweatpants more often? Should not all of his characters also wear sweatpants???

Yes, they should. Obviously. Come on, you knew where this was going.
