After nine years of being husband and wife, according to E! News, Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are officially divorced. The actress first filed for divorce in October 2014 citing "irreconcilable differences," and now it looks like the two can move on with their lives — that is if Thicke is ready to.
As we all know, Thicke had a hard time letting go of Patton, who her knew since high school. He basically launched a campaign to win her back. He might have thought it was romantic, but it came off creepy and desperate. Eventually, Thicke seemed to come to terms with his failed marriage and decided it was time to let go.
As for Patton, she's appeared to be in a better headspace and handled her split with class. In an interview with Good Morning America, Patton talked positively about her divorce and the tough times she's continuing to experience. Even though it's been "challenging" for the actress, she said,
It’s being grateful for what you have. It’s so easy for all of us to focus on the negative things, but, usually, the positive in your life outweighs that. And you have to just be thankful for what you have right now.
Patton is also credits the four-year-old son she shares with Thicke, Julian, in helping her remain in a good place.
However, I don't know if the same can be said for Thicke. Patton's now ex-husband was recently found guilty alongside Pharrell Williams for copyright infringement for their song "Blurred Lines." Between that and officially being divorced from Patton, I have a feeling the singer is going to put his emotions into a song. Let's just hope he doesn't title it "Paula."
