Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes Should Date

by Rachel Simon

Joey/Pacey fans, you can rest easy now: It's been confirmed that Katie Holmes is not dating Jamie Foxx, despite rumors circulating on Tuesday that claimed otherwise. The talk first got started back in August, when Foxx and Holmes danced together at a charity event (along with Ellen DeGeneres and Colin Powell — remember that amazing video?). Several gossip outlets reported yesterday that the duo had begun a romance post-party, but according to Foxx himself, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

"[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true," he told Entertainment Tonight. "In fact, it's quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people."

Ah, well. We're disappointed to hear that, because, surprisingly enough, Holmes and Foxx have more in common than you think, and they'd make one strong couple. Here are 6 reasons why Holmes and Foxx need to turn those rumors to fact:

1. They're Both Superhero Royalty

While neither actor has actually played a superhero, they've both had major parts in superhero movies. In the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, Foxx stars as Electro, a villain who has the ability to control electricity. As for Holmes, she played Bruce Wayne's love interest in Batman Begins. We bet the duo could spend hours comparing notes on powers, costumes, and the beauty of CGI.

2. They're Old Friends

Foxx has been close friends with Holmes' ex, Tom Cruise, ever since the two met back in 2002 when they co-starred in Collateral. We assume that sometime over the years, Holmes and Foxx struck up a friendship as well. Sure, it might be a bit awkward since their main mutual friend is Holmes' ex-husband, but no one says they have to invite him over for dinner, right?

3. They Share Presidential Pasts

Between their resumes, there's not a part in the White House that Holmes or Foxx haven't played. In 2004, Holmes starred as the president's kid in First Daughter, and then in 2011, she played Jackie Kennedy in The Kennedys, a miniseries that bowed to mixed reviews. Earlier this year, Foxx took on the role of President in White House Down. Surely, being intimate with the nation's top government (albeit fictionally) would give the two of them conversation for days.

4. They Both Have Stylish Kids

Foxx has two daughters: Corinne, 19, and Annalise, 4. Homes, as we all know, has Suri, 7. While too few pictures of Annalise have surfaced to tell what her fashion sense is like, Corinne has wowed every time she's appeared on the red carpet alongside her dad. The trend-setting Suri would no doubt be proud to have such a well-dressed role model; Corinne would undoubtedly get high marks in Holmes' daughter's burn book.

5. He'd Bring Out Her Personality

There's no doubt about it: Jamie Foxx is cool. He's an Oscar winner, a Grammy-winning musical artist, and a radio host, and in interviews, he comes across as a funny, charismatic guy. It's a whole different case for Holmes, though, whose true personality is relatively unknown to the public. Most of the mystery can be attributed to her marriage to Cruise, but now that she's single, it's time for her to come out of her shell — remember the zest her Pieces of April role hinted at? Perhaps she could get some help from the charming, likable Foxx.

6. It'd Get Dawson to Make This Face Again

This, of course, is the most important reason of all. The '90s kid would be heartbroken, and dreams of '90s kids everywhere would be fulfilled.
