SmartBod Tracks And Shares Your Orgasm Stats

by Kristen Sollee

Over the past decade, tech has flooded the sex toy market with all kinds of futuristic devices to help you pleasure yourself. Even though we already have a robotic blow job machine and a bracelet that can power your computer through masturbation, there's something extra exciting about being able to track your orgasms in real time, FitBit-style. Enter SmartBod, a new smart vibrator that allows you to measure the biometrics of your orgasm and compare stats with your friends.

Cocreators of the device Liz Klinger and James Wang are still testing their product, but recently revealed to California Magazine a bit about its functionality. SmartBod is designed to destigmatize the female orgasm in the sense that you can learn about how your orgasm changes depending on how and when you use the vibrator. Wang explained:

You can also baseline yourself with other people. For a lot of women, because it’s such a taboo topic, they want to know where they fall within the spectrum.

Obviously sex isn't a competition, but if the FitBit is any parallel, I know I stepped up my exercise game when I found out my friends were gaining on me. Who wouldn't be into a friendly "how hard did you climax" sort of competition now and then?

Sex trackers aren't necessarily new: Bondara already created the SexFit, which is like a bluetooth enabled cock ring, and the kGoal is a bluetooth-enabled keels tracker with an accompanying app. There is also Mod, a smart vibrator that you can hack into and really make your own. However, there's always room for new ways to learn more about your body and your sexuality, especially when the product is specifically geared toward fostering transparency around the female orgasm and female pleasure. The more we know about our bodies, the more we can take control over our sex lives, so no orgasm is ever left up to chance.
