Cate Blanchett's Expanded Her Family!

by Allyson Koerner

Whoa. Talk about unexpected, yet thrilling, news. Cate Blanchett adopted a baby girl with her husband Andrew Upton, meaning they are now proud parents to four children. While no major details have yet to be released, according to The Australian Women's Weekly, their daughter is named Vivienne. If true, this baby just joined in on a big trend — Vivienne is a very popular name in Hollywood.

Blanchett's rep confirmed the news, except for the name, to E! News with the following statement:

The Upton family [Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton] have adopted a baby girl. No further details will be provided.

Per The Australian Women's Weekly, a source said that Blanchett is "really excited and clearly besotted." Well, I would assume so. Also, according to the Daily Mail, the actress was recently spotted with a baby on a flight Tuesday in Los Angeles. Whether she was holding "Vivienne" or not has yet to be reported.

Not only is Blanchett an amazing actress, but she seems like she'd be a wonderful mother. Anyone who says "Okey dokey, smokey" while announcing the winner for Best Actor at the Academy Awards is fantastic in my book. I can only imagine the sense of humor she has with her children.

Blanchett and Upton also have three sons, Roman Robert, Ignatius Martin, and Dashiell John. Congrats the family on their exciting new addition!
