There are no blurred lines here. In a Friday interview with Good Morning America, Paula Patton discussed her split from Robin Thicke. She could easily embrace the sadness and negativity that comes with divorce, but Patton is choosing the high and positive road. Not only did the actress say she is "doing really well," but she explained why it's better to remain optimistic about a difficult situation, rather than going to a dark place. She told GMA,
I mean, the honest truth is, it has been challenging. But it's been a year of growth, lots of healing, learning about all new things... I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there.
Patton filed for divorce in October 2014 from her husband of nine years (the two met as teenagers), and dealing with a split in the public eye can't be easy. How has Patton gotten through it?
It's being grateful for what you have. It's so easy for all of us to focus on the negative things, but, usually, the positive in your life outweighs that. And you have to just be thankful for what you have right now.
Patton gives credit to her son, Julian, 4, for helping her remain positive and having a healthy outlook on life. She told GMA, "The thing is, you can't wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they're so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy."
Patton definitely seems to have a good head on her shoulders and is dealing with her divorce in such a classy and graceful way. If anyone can help others going through the same thing, it's Patton and her inspiring words.
