You've heard the rumors circulating about Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and Olympian Bruce Jenner, and they keep on coming. According to Page Six, KUWTK Season 10 will feature Bruce Jenner coming out as transgender. Per one source, Jenner came out to his daughters, including Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, on Jan. 19. The insider also said the conversation was not "jaw-dropping" and will be shown during episode 13 of the latest season of the reality series. Another source added,
He literally started the conversation with, "Hey guys, I’m becoming a woman, but I’m sure you probably already figured that out."
Reportedly, Jenner's also asked his daughters to not call him Bruce, but rather another name of his choosing. Also, an insider said,
He told the kids that if anybody asks, they are just to respond, "Bruce is in a very good and happy place."
As we've seen, both Kim Kardashian and Bruce's ex-wife Kris Jenner have addressed the rumors. Kim gave a classy statement saying, "I’ll say that I think that Bruce should tell his story his way. I think that when the time is right, he’ll talk about whatever he wants to talk about.”
As for Kris, when asked about the rumors, she said, “I’m not even answering that. It’s just dumb.” To be clear, it seemed pretty clear Kris was calling the question "dumb" and not Jenner's alleged transition.
The Page Six report adds that any information about Jenner undergoing surgery to treat his alleged gender dysphoria wasn't taped for the show. A source said this is "such an elephant in the room, but the girls are good with elephants." Another "family confidante" allegedly said, "They don't really want to know."
Whether any of this information is true or not, if Jenner is planning on coming out and does announce it on reality TV, well, it could be life-changing — for Jenner, as well as for other people who identify as transgender. KUTWK is not the type of show that often deals with issues as serious as this; however, if the show does tackle Jenner's alleged transition, not only would it change the show for the better (because it would be showing something that could impact many), but it might also inspire and motivate others to follow their hearts.
Editors Note: Until/unless Jenner has personally confirmed the transgender rumors and the intention to begin presenting as a woman, Bustle will continue to refer to the track star as a man and father, using male pronouns. Jenner deserves the courtesy of being able to “tell his story his way” when ready, as step-daughter Kim said, and Bustle will only make those changes if/when Jenner confirms.
