You'll "Adore" Ariana Grande's New Track
A few days ago we got a shaky fan-filmed YouTube video of Ariana Grande on her current "Honeymoon" tour, singing a new song with her opening act Cashmere Cat. On Tuesday, Grande and her DJ collaborator released the song, which we now know is called "Adore," and Grande's sweet voice seems right at home on the track. It's sexy and electric but also pretty soulful, which goes right along with Grande's aesthetic.
If you hear "cashmere cat" and think of a super-soft feline, you're probably not alone. But the 27 year old Cashmere Cat (real name: Magnus Høiberg) is actually a Norwegian producer who's been making waves behind the scenes and on the stage; he's produced songs not only for Grande but other huge names on the scene right now. On Grande's My Everything, he produced "Be My Baby," and also produced Kanye West's "Wolves," which he debuted with Sia in a dark, avant-garde performance at the Saturday Night Live 40 event.
"Adore" is a pretty great bop, not only thanks to Grande's sultry singing but to Cashmere Cat's knack for great mixing. The two also have a pretty cute Twitter relationship — Grande tweeted on Monday, "Congrats on Adore, I love working with you." Awww.
