Joseph Duggar Is Officially A College Student

I don't know about you, but while watching 19 Kids and Counting, I get the impression that Michelle and Jim Bob aren't exactly encouraging higher education to their kids, especially their daughters. And by and large, most of the adult Duggar children have elected not to go to college, instead opting to learn trades, jump right into their careers, or get married and start having kids. While that decision is each Duggar's to make on their own, and they shouuld do whatever makes them happy, I've always thought it'd be interesting to see a Duggar or two pursue higher education, and it's officially happened. I'm talking about Joseph Duggar, who is officially a college student.

According to a post made on the Duggars' official Facebook page in January, Joseph's currently a student at The Crown College in Knoxville, Tenn. It is a Baptist college, not to be confused with Crown College, a Christian school in Minnesota. Joseph's school offers the typical majors found at many colleges. There are departments that focus on a wide range of topics including education, humanities, and music. There's also a huge Biblical, Theological, & Ministry Studies department, which in itself offers eight different majors. In fact, the school's full name is The Crown College of the Bible, and the Duggars' Facebook post definitely makes it sound like Joseph will be pursuing biblical studies.

It's also pretty interesting to note that The Crown College is very close to where the Duggars' longtime close friends the Bates family live, so even though Joseph's far from home, he has the Bates around to fall back on. In fact, there's even been speculation that Joseph is courting Teri Bates, who also attends Crown, but there has been no confirmation or evidence of that yet. I'll believe it when I see it on TLC, y'all. Actually, since the other Duggar guys don't seem to be in any hurry to court, I wouldn't be surprised if Joseph decides to hold off on a romantic relationship until after he's done with college. Don't get too excited about seeing his wedding on 19 Kids and Counting anytime soon.

And even though he's busy at school, Joseph is obviously still making time to hang with his family, as pictured in this photo with Joy Anna. Maybe John David is flying down to Tennessee in his plane to pick up his brother for a weekend at home? This family is so adorable, I wouldn't doubt it for a second.
