Would You Buy Underwear Printed With Food?

by Marc Cuenco

The next time you think about taking a photo of your fancy dinner plate to post on social media, just remember that someone has already one-upped you in the #foodporn game. San Francisco-based lingerie company Naja now sells underwear printed with hamburgers, sushi, and other food items. So what if these "appetizing" skivvies might just be some of the weirdest underwear that you can buy online? The company behind these fun and strangely sexy undies designed them with various types of women in mind.

"Rather than being super sexy and provocative, I wanted to create a brand that's fashionable, quirky and fun," Naja's owner Catalina Girald says. "Women are multifaceted and you can be quirky and funny, as well as elegant and fashionable at the same time."

Their "Cheeky Knickers" collection offers a variety of women's underwear with photographs of food strategically placed in the front area. The company also has other designs, from animal photos to Japanese-inspired prints. Each one of Naja's panties — made of super comfortable Pima cotton —includes funny quotes on the inner lining, which Girald hopes will make the wearer laugh every time she takes them off. The undies cost $18 each, range from XS to 2XL, and a percentage of every sale goes towards the Golondrinas Foundation, which benefits underprivileged single mothers in Colombia.
