The day has finally come: Justin Bieber is officially 21. Either you're a J. Biebs fan who's just as excited as he is about this milestone, or (the more likely option) you're shocked that he wasn't already 21. Regardless, it's cause for celebration and that's exactly what he did. According to TMZ, Justin Bieber celebrated his birthday with a party on a private island. He uploaded a video to Fahlo (an app that looks like a hybrid of Vine and Instagram), which TMZ later shared on their site as well. The video shows the Biebs partying like it's his birthday... literally!
Bieber is dancing around shirtless (unsurprisingly) and sipping champagne while 50 Cent's "In Da Club" plays in the background. You know, the song that says, "Go shorty, it's your birthday / We're gonna party like it's your birthday." So appropriate, Biebs! Is there a better anthem for a 21st birthday? Probably not.
The caption of the video was equally straightforward: "Happy birthday to me !!!! I'm 21!!!"
For once, I'm not going to diss Bieber's antics or mock his ridiculousness. Sure, it's a bit cliche to listen to that song, and I would've expected him to pick out a nice outfit, but know what? He deserves to have fun and at least now it's legal fun.
Besides the video, he posted a series of tweets expressing his appreciation of life. Were these the first (legal) drunk tweets Biebs ever posted? Sure seems like it, based on the excessive exclamation points.
Bieber hasn't Instagrammed any birthday photos just yet — he's probably still recuperating from the celebration. But his good friend Hailey Baldwin shared a photo from the party. Chances are there were plenty of other celebs in attendance, but I'm guessing (or at least hoping) Selena Gomez skipped out.
What matters most is that he enjoyed himself on his big day, and clearly he did. Happy birthday, Biebs!
