2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Dresses Were As Good As (If Not Better Than) As The Regular Red Carpet
Even though the 2015 Academy Awards wrapped around midnight, the partying and revelry continued long after. The 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party is always the post-Oscars event, thanks to the gowns the celebs don. Many of the stars swap out their red carpet frocks in favor of something else for the VF afterparty. Why wear one fabulous gown when you can wear two?
The major VF party dress trends were black and white shades, as well as gowns with long sleeves. Showing skin in unique and unusual ways, mostly through sheer fabric, was also a trend.

Rita Ora... From The Side
The platinum blonde bombshell singer donned a sheer black Donna Karan grown that showed a lot of sidebum!
Rita Ora... From The Front
This DK dress was nothing if not unique, with one sheer long sleeve.
Lady Gaga
Mother Monster wore custom Alaia on the red carpet and a silvery-white frock while performing her tribute to The Sound of Music. She went goth for the afterparty, with this black frock that clung to her figure and had a massive, lovely train, along with those blood-stained lips.
Christina Aguilera
Usually, Xtina lets it all hang out, showing off her legs, her cleavage, and her curves. She covered up in a lace-like, cracked earth-looking dress, but it was hardly like grandma’s parlor. The high-collar frock by Marc Bouwer was so pretty on her.
Beyonce
The Queen Bey donned winter white, a popular hue at this fete, by Stella McCartney. She also rocked a bob and some serious bling. Anyone else loving that side action?
Selena Gomez
Sel Go was wrapped in a clingy, slinky, striped, black and gold Luis Vuitton with long sleeves. Again, black, white, and long sleeves were the trends at this partay and Gomez fell in line.
Lily Collins
Black, sheer, and long-sleeved! Lily Collins hit three of the night’s big trends with a single dress.
Molly Sims
Sims was about to pop, literally! She is nine months pregnant, yet she still sparked in a bold sapphire gown with long sleeves that clung to her baby bump.
Chanel Iman
The model’s champagne gown certainly displayed all of her curves. So, so pretty… save for those visible granny panties (we can't all be perfect all the time).
Jessica Chastain
One of my fave gingers swapped out her red carpet gown in favor of a looser, glamsual H&M Conscious Collection (yep, really!) dress in a champagne hue.
Marion Cotillard
The Best Actress nominee changed out of her red carpet gown for this interesting, intricate, and ultimately busy gown that certainly inspires a love or hate reaction. That’s the sign of a good dress.
Suki Waterhouse
The model’s tomato red gown with a full skirt was so princess-like. Bradley Cooper’s main squeeze was like a modern day scarlet lady… with class.
Hailee Steinfeld
The actress was draped in a colorful print Andrew GN dress that felt incredibly youthful.
Gigi Hadid
As noted previously, skin-showing and black were two trends of the VF event, and Gigi Hadid’s gown hit on those, obviously. I love how the top looked like artful-yet-strategically placed swirls.
Karlie Kloss
Remember what I said about black? And flashes of skin? And sheerness? Yep, that’s what Karlie Kloss rocked.
Zoe Saldana
The new mom of twins hit on two trends — black and white — with her strapless and belted Prabal Gurung gown.
Jennifer Lopez
Lopez’s red carpet gown was troublesome since she could barely walk in it. She ditched it for the VF party, but she was equally as sexy in a sparkly, dangerously daring Zuhair Murad Couture dress.
Miranda Kerr
The model rocked her custom Emilio Pucci gown, with its golden lining, cream hue, and cutouts.
Olivia Munn
The actress wore a dusty blue, halter neck gown with pleating by Zac Posen. Her best accessory was her arm candy BF, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Yes, I am jealous.
