If there's anyone who is almost always, without a doubt, on the best dressed list at award shows, it's always Cate Blanchett. Always. If you don't remember, Blanchett won the Oscar for best actress last year and wore the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous gown of all time. In my opinion, absolutely nothing could beat that Armani Prive gown. Nothing. But despite that, I still expected nothing from the best from Blanchett—maybe something a little more subtle than last year's gown, but still, the best. Because it's Cate Blanchett. Blanchett wore an all-black John Galliano gown for the 2015 Oscar's red carpet paired with a turquoise Tiffany's statement necklace, and looked absolutely gorgeous.
It's true that the Galliano gown is practically nothing compared to the ethereal, embellished Armani Prive gown (which, by the way, cost around $100,000—NBD), but when you combine the Tiffany's necklace (beautiful) with the AMAZING back to the gown (SO beautiful), the whole look just comes together perfectly. It's understated, but makes a definite statement. And, let's be honest, could Cate Blanchett wear anything that's not completely chic? The answer is no. It's impossible. I'm a big fan. Can you tell?
And if you haven't seen the back of Blanchett's 2015 Oscar's gown, you're going to want to sit down for a second and really take it all in.
