So, my wish that Katy Perry would show up at the Grammys dressed in a shark costume did not come true. Harumph. I'll get over it eventually, even though the sequined and fringe dress Perry did decide to wear was a lot less exciting. Still, no one can deny that she looked amazing in the sparkly gown from Zuhair Murad, along with a Kelly Osbourne-esque lavender tousled bob.
It's definitely not "Left Shark" material, but it is beyond pretty and looks incredible on her. Maybe Perry was tired of rocking super loud outfits from last week's Super Bowl and decided to go more feminine and romantic with this ethereal-looking dress. Maybe she wanted to play it safe since her Valentino-made, music note-adorned gown from last year caused a bit of confusion among fashion critics. Whatever the reason, one thing's for sure: Katy Perry dressed to win.
Although she's been nominated for countless awards in years past, Perry has never walked away with a golden gramophone. Will this year be it? She's up for two awards, one for Best Pop Album with PRISM and again for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Dark Horse." Perry will also take the stage with domestic violence survivor Brooke Axtell, singing her moving ballad "By the Grace of God." Needless to say, this is a big night for Katy Perry. Best of luck, girl!
