The premiere that loads of people have been waiting for (and that even more have been avoiding) is imminent. You know the one I'm talking about — that book-turned-movie that's about to grace all the big screens come Valentine's Day. Yep, I mean 50 Shades of Grey , of course. I feel pretty guilty saying this, but I did actually read the first book. It was during a particularly bad snowstorm, when I was stuck at my dad's. For reasons that I do not care to know, it was the only book he had available. Ultimately, I was unimpressed. And I don't exactly have high hopes for the film adaptation. The reality is that sexuality is complicated and messy and weird, and as a collective society, we're still extremely uncomfortable discussing (let alone accepting) sexualities that differ from what is considered "normal."
