After being rushed to the hospital on Saturday, Bobbi Kristina Brown is reportedly in stable condition. This news comes after the 21-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found unconscious in her bathtub. While the cause remains unknown, there has been an outpouring of public support and well wishes on her behalf on social media. On Sunday, her father Bobby Brown issued a statement about Bobbi Kristina's hospitalization to E! News. He said:
Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.
(Update Feb. 2: In addition, on Feb. 2, the Houston family released this statement: "Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.")
(Update Feb. 4 : According to the lawyer of Bobbi Kristina Brown's father, Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon were not legally married.)
It may not be a long statement, but it covers all the bases and hits home an important message. Instead of prying for more details or jumping to conclusions, the family definitely deserves privacy, as well as tons of support.
Soon after hearing the news, Bobby Brown reportedly took a private jet from Los Angeles to Georgia to be by his daughter's side in the hospital. Bobbi's husband Nick Gordon is at the medical center as well. Gordon is the one who found her in the bathtub and attempted to perform CPR before police arrived.
This news is especially sad, nearing the three-anniversary of Whitney Houston's death on Feb. 11, 2012. The Brown family has certainly been through enough tragedy, and here's hoping Bobbi Kristina has a speedy recovery!
