Original Story: According to TMZ, Death Row Records founder Suge Knight may have been involved in a fatal hit and run earlier today on a film set in Compton, Los Angeles. Though the details remain unconfirmed — TMZ reports the source as multiple witnesses from the scene — the report states that Knight may have gotten into a fight with another man on the set of a film (which stars rappers Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and The Game), before running over the man with his vehicle and causing fatal injuries. From the gossip site:
Multiple witnesses tell us a movie shoot was going down with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre when Suge pulled up in his car. We're told security told Suge to leave and that's when trouble began. A fight broke out between Suge and 2 men. Suge got back into his car, took the wheel and threw the vehicle in reverse ... and ran over a man who suffered fatal injuries. It's unclear at this point if the victim was connected to the film project.
The site also added that Knight may have been afraid for his life after the alleged argument, "because he's in frail health" — a fact that could lead cops to conclude Suge is not legally on the hook because he fled out of fear for his life." Additionally, according to the LA Times , authorities did confirm that Knight was involved in some sort of crash, but they didn't confirm any details regarding the circumstances.
No statement has been released regarding the reported incident just yet. According to TMZ, Knight reportedly is not in police custody, but his lawyer may be "arranging for his client's surrender to the Sheriff's Dept."
