12 Celeb Pairs Who Got Married On Valentine's Day & Made The Day One Epic Celebration
If you feel bad that you don't have a valentine, sorry, but the FOMO can actually get worse. Some people actually get a husband or wife on Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day marriages are kind of cheesy in my opinion, but many stars have tied the knot on this polarizing holiday. Check out these 12 celebrity marriages that took place on Feb. 14. And don't be too bummed out, as you click through, you'll notice that Valentine's Day weddings don't seem to work out so well.
Salma Hayek & François-Henri Pinault
Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault actually had two weddings. They made it official with their first wedding on February 14, 2009 at the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris. The couple then had a big Italian wedding celebration in April 2009 with family and friends. Does this mean that they celebrate two anniversaries in addition to Valentine’s Day? Why not celebrate as much as possible? I would.
Lil Wayne & Toya Wright
Lil Wayne married his high school sweetheart Toya Wright on Valentine’s Day in 2006. The couple has since split, and Wright got married again in 2011. I’m sure this marriage and breakup inspired some great song writing sessions for the rapper. Still, it must be an awkward memory when Valentine’s Day rolls around every year.
Adriana Lima & Marko Jaric
She sells Valentine’s Day lingerie as a Victoria’s Secret model, so it’s only right Adriana Lima wed basketball player Marko Jaric on Valentine’s Day 2009. Sadly, the two announced their split in May 2014.
Meg Ryan & Dennis Quaid
Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid reached the pinnacle of their couple-y cuteness with their Valentine’s Day wedding in 1991. The two broke up 10 years later and ending their romantic comedy lovin’. How sad. This just makes me want to watch a movie with a happy ending.
Sharon Stone & Phil Bronstein
Sharon Stone and Phil Bronstein got married on Valentine’s Day 1998 at her mansion. Stone tried to keep the wedding a secret by inviting people to a Valentine’s Day party. Even before the Internet gossip age, I bet no one was really fooled by that ruse. Sadly, Stone and Bronstein have broken up, but that “Valentine’s Day party” was one to remember.
Prince & Mayte Garcia
Prince seems to have quite a way with the ladies, so I’m not super shocked that he tied the knot on Valentine’s Day. Prince married back up dancer Mayte Garcia in 1996. He even performed a song at the wedding song called “Kama Sutra.” Sadly, the couple filed for divorce just two years later.
Isaiah Washington & Jenisa Washington
The Washingtons tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 1999. I wonder what they are doing to celebrate this year? Valentine’s Day plus a wedding anniversary sounds like a lot of pressure for the former Grey’s Anatomy doctor.
Keri Russell & Shane Deary
Keri Russell and Shane Deary did not end up with a romantic Hollywood ending after getting married on Valentine’s Day in 2007. They split up seven years later. Let’s hope they are both able to make some happy Valentine’s Day memories this year.
Roseanne Barr & Ben Thomas
Roseanne Barr has been married three times. She tied the knot with her first husband Ben Thomas on Valentine’s Day in 1995. She bounced back though getting married twice after that and now she seems to be happy with her partner Johnny Argent.
Liam Gallagher & Nicole Appleton
Oasis singer Liam Gallagher secretly married Nicole Appleton on Valentine’s Day 1998. The two split up in 2013 and apparently Appleton’s worst nightmare came true. It was reported that “Nicole never wanted to get married. They used to have flaming rows about it. Nic’s argument was she never wanted to risk him cheating on her and that she’d be this sad rock star wife.” Well, hopefully this doesn’t scar Valentine’s Day for Appleton forever.
Rita Hayworth & James Hill
Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth married producer James Hill on Valentine’s Day in 1958. The couple divorced three years later. This was actually her fifth marriage, so I assume she was an expert by then. For all I know she already had someone lined up to be her next Valentine.
