Here Comes The Storm (And The Memes)

by Lauren Barbato

In case you haven't heard, the Northeast is collectively freaking out because of a "potentially historic" snowstorm set to wreak major havoc — at least two feet of snow, or more in some areas — on the coast from New Jersey to Maine. The epic snowstorm, named "Juno," will hit the Northeast on Monday evening, and continue until early Wednesday morning. If you live in the area, you probably won't be going anywhere for awhile — but here to keep you company, of course, are a plethora of winter storm Juno memes.

According to CNN, Juno has been called "historic" and "life-threatening" by the National Weather Service, so you know this storm isn't playing around. The Weather Channel says nearly 40 million people could be impacted by the snowstorm.

Flights to and from the East Coast have already been canceled on Monday at an alarming rate. FlightAware.com reports that more than 2,000 flights within, into, or out of the United States have been canceled by Monday morning, with more than 2,500 delays. More than 2,000 flights are also expected to be canceled on Tuesday.

So, just how bad will snowstorm Juno be for the most populated region of the United States? Weather experts say Juno could possibly exceed New York City's snowfall record, which currently stands at 26.9 inches.

Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters on Sunday:

This could be the biggest snowstorm in the history of this city. My message for New Yorkers is prepare for something worse than we have ever seen before.

Basically, this will be your Monday and Tuesday night if you live in New York City or the Boston area…

So enjoy Blizzard 2015 with some of these Snowpocalypse memes, which one day you will fondly look back upon with your grandkids.

On a more serious note, here's a blizzard safety tip from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo…
