These Celebrity Ear Cuffs Will Inspire You

If there was one trend that absolutely won the red carpet at the SAG Awards, ear cuffs were it. From Emma Stone to Tatiana Maslany, that cuff game was super strong, in all variations of the accessory. Although ear jackets, ear wraps and colorful drop earrings (I'm looking at your Julianne Moore) were all seen on the red carpet this year, it seems the ear cuff has not yet gone out of style.

Natalie Dormer started the cuffs-at-SAG trend last January, right around the same time she debuted her edgy undercut hairstyle. The only difference I saw with this year's ear cuff trend was its subtlety. When the trend first became popular, ear cuffs were the statement piece in the outfit, and celebs seemed to have fun choosing what to do with the other ear. But at the 2015 SAG awards, hardly the other side was shown. Instead, the stars let their dresses be the statement pieces. After all, they were quite amazing this year.

From seasoned red carpet goers to new ones, take a look through these leading women, all up for leading role nominations, who re-inspired me to add an ear cuff to my jewelry collection.

Emma Stone

Stone kept it simple this year in her amazing black, sheer and seemingly menswear dress, but she let her cuff be seen behind her wrapped ponytail. Stone opted for a smaller, branch-like cuff, which only went up about half her ear. I'm loving the earthly looks she's been going for lately.

Rashida Jones

It looked like Rashida Jones was teasing her ear cuff, and I love it. The silver cuff was a good choice against her dress, which featured a pop of color with blue piping. The silver was not too much and definitely helped tied the outfit together.

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley has been turning many heads this award season with her dresses, and, I have to say, pregnancy does look oh so good on her. In addition to her elegant, and appropriate, purple gown, her silver ear cuff definitely caught my eye. Though it looks like a bunch of separate earrings, Knightley's ear cuff actually started at her second piercing and went all the way up to the top of her ear in one piece.

Tatiana Maslany

If you're looking for a way to ease into the ear cuff trend, this Orphan Black star has your back. It was Tatiana Maslany's first experience at the red carpet, but you never would have guessed it. The actress, from Canada, admitted to E! News that she has not adjusted to the Hollywood way of life yet, but I would say her ear cuff indicates otherwise. It wasn't a traditional cuff. Instead, it looked like the earring was growing diamonds up her ear. It was the perfect, and subtle choice for her artsy piece of a dress. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her more on the red carpet this season.
