The World's Most Elusive Bellybutton: REVEALED

The unthinkable has happened!!! Clearly intoxicated by prolonged exposure to the ample Vitamin D in tropical sunlight, Taylor Swift revealed her belly button in a bikini picture from her tropical vacay this weekend. Was it an accident?! Was it on purpose?!?! While we may never have confirmation, one thing's for sure. Even the strictest of no-navel edicts is no match for a heavily 'grammable vacation.

This weekend, Swiftie joined the sisters of Haim (who seem to be her chosen best fiends du jour) on a Hawaiian getaway that would make anyone who lives in winter weather jealous. They hiked. They whale watched while listening to The Beach Boys. They posed for pictures in their bikinis, of which Swift was not wearing a high-waisted bottom. While we're all very familiar with Taylor's upper midriff, Swift (unwittingly?!) revealed a part of her abdomen thus far deemed confidential— the area where her umbilical cord used to be. The 1989 singer has previously valued the air of mystery surrounding that sacred space, vowing never to show it. As she told Lucky back in December:

I don’t like showing my belly button… I don’t want people to know if I have one or not. I want that to be a mystery… It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I’m going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it’s going to be right next to my belly button because no one’s ever going to see that.

• Swift's innie does not appear to be pierced, as far as we can tell. No rhinestone dangly bellybutton rings in sight.
• Neither Olivia Benson nor Meredith Grey have been immortalized on/ next to her bellybutton. At least, not on her left side. No word on future plans for cat tattoos, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
• She is not hiding buried treasure in there, to the best of my knowledge. However, I'll suspend a verdict 'til we can get the HD shots.
