Miley Cyrus Posts Full-Frontal Nudes to Instagram

"Miley Cyrus naked? That's absurd!" said no one ever. This week, Perpetually Naked Person Miley Cyrus posted nude photos of herself on her Instagram account, and roughly not one person was surprised. But that doesn't mean everyone wasn't intrigued. Because, real talk: Miley is a hottie with a body and an incredible attitude of empowered openness. For such a young woman, she's got the confidence of Meryl Streep. I don't know about you but when I was 22 years old, I was riddled with insecurities. I still am, actually. There's no way I'd pose the way Miley Cyrus does, and I find her brazen sexuality very inspiring.

There are obviously going to be critics of Miley's risqué choices; there always are when a woman gets naked on her own terms. Maybe she'll get kicked off of Instagram a la Rihanna (although I think we're over Instagram censorship now, right?). The thing that's clear to me, however, is that she's a young woman who lives her sexuality in her own way, like an early Madonna. It's a little bit weird, and a little bit gritty, unlike the heavily photoshopped perfectionism we're used to seeing on current sexual icons like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj. Nope; Miley Cyrus is just a girl, standing in front of a camera, asking it to capture her just the way she is, ridiculous headwear, silly faces, thigh creases and weirdly protruding ribs included. It's sexy, for sure, but not the way you're used to seeing sexy. Miley is sex surrealism.
