Whether she's dying her hair green, wearing shorts that people deem "too short," or donning a Prada floral gown at the Emmys, we love to talk about Lena Dunham. There is, perhaps, no celebrity millennial so loved and so hated in seemingly equal measure. I, for one, adore Lena and the honest, raw art she creates. I love her fearlessness when it comes to discussing sex, gender and femininity. I love that she's not afraid of looking like a "style faux pas" based on the "rules" of being a slightly larger woman of the world. And most of all, I love her strength. I love that she literally deleted her Twitter to preserve her sense of self — not because the trolls got to her, but because she's all about staying true to herself and doing the right thing on an individual level. And tonight, she dazzled me yet again at the 2015 Golden Globes whilst wearing a red Zac Posen gown.
I've always associated Lena's look with a bit of a retro flare — and tonight felt like a perfect representation of why. She's back to her signature brown locks, and with the combination of the bob, the red lip and the red gown, well, I'm willing to say she's giving T. Swift a run for her red-on-red money.
I just love everything about this. Some might call it "basic," but I call in elegant. The asymmetrical cut, the sheer and the high-neck just scream 1950's glamour to me, and I just want to put Lena in a picture frame because so pretty.
