The Worst Dressed Stars at the Golden Globes, Because Even Celebrities Aren't Immune to Style Mishaps
Even though the world is full of incredibly talented designers and savvy stylists right now, there are still fashion blunders on award show red carpets. (Hey, celebs aren't immune to misguided style choices, either.) Although the 2015 Golden Globes saw some stunning looks, there were several that failed to impress. Luckily, it's early in award show season, so these gorgeous stars will have several chances to redeem themselves. Better luck next time, ladies!
Kate Mara
Kate Mara is stunning, but her Miu Miu ensemble’s salmon-hued belt… not so much.
Rosamund Pike
I adore Rosamund Pike, and her Vera Wang gown is beautiful — it just didn’t fit her. Granted, she gave birth to her baby boy just five weeks ago, but it could have been taken in, well, almost everywhere. I also wish she would’ve worn color — she’s stunning, and a rich hue would have played that up even more.
Lena Dunham
To me, this looks like a giant satin red triangle with some odd geometric seams. Not a fan, Lena.
Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey is one of my favorite artists, but dear God… this dress, no. The pleats, the material, the random stitching… this is my personal pick for the worst dress of the night.
Tina Fey
Love the top of host Tina Fey’s custom Antonio Berardi gown, but hate the bottom.
Ruth Wilson
Um, I think Ruth Wilson read the invitation wrong — this is the 72nd Annual Golden Globes, not the 1972 Golden Globes.
Keira Knightley
Le sigh. I had high hopes for Keira’s dress tonight, but she took the Victorian theme way too far with the collar. And those butterflies. She mentioned in her interview with Ryan Seacrest that her Chanel dress took 30 people to make in a week, and I’m sorry to say that the work was all for naught.
Melissa McCarthy
I normally like Melissa McCarthy’s red carpet choices, but this blouse/bow/tiered skirt combo is not her best move.
Amanda Peet
Is this a dress or a tunic and a maxi skirt? This matronly look was not working in Amanda Peet’s favor.
Katie Holmes
I think it’s great that Katie Holmes is repurposing an old bridesmaid dress, but was this really the right time or place?
