While I will openly admit that the fact Kong: Skull Island, the upcoming King Kong prequel, stars Tom Hiddleston is absolutely enough reason alone to make me go see it, adding even more highly acclaimed, stellar cast members certainly doesn't ever hurt. According to Vulture, Birdman's Michael Keaton has been cast in Skull Island alongside Hiddleston, which, as previously reported, is set for a premiere in March 2017. (As in over two years. I know. I don't know why they're doing this to us all either.)
The news was broken by The Wrap 's Linda Ge on Twitter, after reports that Keaton was in talks for the role previously surfaced. Probably because the film is still so far off from even beginning to shoot, there's not much information out about who Keaton will be playing — but, considering his epic performances in just about everything he's ever been in (especially Birdman because seriously, did you see Birdman?) I'm sure it'll be a great addition to the already stellar cast. In addition to Hiddleson and Keaton, the film will also star Whiplash's J.K. Simmons.
As aforementioned, sadly, we're gonna have to wait a while for this one: Kong: Skull Island isn't set to hit theaters until March 10, 2017. (In other words, yes, it's too early to start setting up your tents outside of the movie theaters. I've already asked.)
