Kim Named Her Fave Outfit of 2015

As a fashion writer, I spend a decent amount of time assessing celebrity style choices, but it's not often that we get to hear what a celeb thinks of her own sartorial decisions. Enter the always self-reflective "Kim" half of "Kimye." Kim Kardashian named her favorite outfit of 2014 via Instagram. And no, it's not her wedding dress, though that would have been the predictable choice.

What does Kim think is her best look of the past year? The black lace Givenchy ensemble she wore to sit front row at the label's runway show during Paris Fashion Week. You know, the one I said North West wore better?

Don't get me wrong. Kim looked smokin' in the sheer lace jumpsuit and cleavage-boosting bustier. But 2014 was kind of a banner year for the reality star, style-wise. There are so many outfits of hers that I liked better than this one. And how could she not have elected something by Balmain's Olivier Rousting?? Kim was essentially made to live in his designs.

While I respect Mrs. Yeezus's opinion, I'm going to politely offer up a few alternative candidates for the title of "Best Kim Kardashian Ensemble of '14."

But first... that Givenchy!

1. Caged Balmain Top

Sure, this is a menswear ad, but Kim's edgy black shirt steals the show away from Kanye.

2. Asymmetrical Blue Satin

This is one of the best versions of Kim's beloved thigh-high slit.

3. Cutouts Galore

Can you tell I like the caged cutout look on her?

4. Red, Black, and White at the VMAs

The cool print on this edgy dress is almost enough to distract from her excellent side-boob.

5. Her Givenchy Wedding Dress
