You'll Love This Anti-Slut Shaming Podcast
When most girls go through a break up, they cry to their friends, feel down in the dumps, and gain or lose a few pounds. For Corinne Fisher, you do all of the above, and then become inspired to collaborate with the other half of your comedy duo and best friend Krystyna Hutchinson to create a wildly successful podcast called Guys We Fucked: The Anti-Slut Shaming podcast.
After being dumped in a Panera Bread, Fisher began to think about all of her past relationships and sexual encounters, and had a fantasy of having frank discussions with all of them, “John Cusack style,” to learn about what she was doing wrong in relationships. Working with Hutchinson, her partner in their comedy duo Sorry About Last Night, the idea snowballed into a something bigger than their personal drama, turning into a show about sex, relationships, slut shaming, and friendship. Guys We Fucked: The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast is what the duo likes to call comedy with a purpose. The show is of course funny, but it also aims to make listeners more comfortable with their own bodies and sex lives by having very honest and sometimes uncomfortable discussions about sex and the mistakes that the two have made. In their first podcast, the girls are very clear with their message, “we’re saying to have a lot of sex and be proud of it. We wanted to do this podcast because we want people to be able to talk about their sex lives honestly and intelligently without feeling guilty.”
Guys We Fucked has amassed over half a million listeners since the podcast aired last year, and it’s easy to see why fans — adoringly called “fuckers” by the duo— are hooked. Fisher and Hutchinson pledge to be honest with listeners, even if that means sharing stories that are hard to tell or that they wouldn’t necessarily want their parents to hear (sorry mom!). The two women actually do regularly interview men that they have slept with, as well as discuss sexual taboos, current topics, and anything from big dicks to period sex. Basically, nothing is off limits.
