'Divergent' Posters Promise Lots of Darkness

by Tanya Ghahremani

If last month's Divergent trailer wasn't enough to convince you that this movie is going to be dark and dramatic, take a look at this. The movie isn't set to hit theaters for another six months, but Summit Entertainment is already releasing new promotional material in anticipation — so here, we have two new posters featuring main stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James looking real serious against a dark backdrop. Yeah, basically, shit's gonna get real in this movie.

The two posters are the first released for the movie — in the first, Shailene Woodley dons her signature Tris tattoos, and stares off into the dark pretty pensively. She's probably thinking about something really important, or maybe mulling over what the last episode of Breaking Bad is going to entail. Maybe she's thinking about how shitty the series finale of Dexter was, I don't know.

In the second poster, Theo James bares his back to show off his own tattoos as Four, and glances over his shoulder about as pensively as Tris is staring out into the darkness. They're probably thinking about the same thing.

Divergent, which is based off of the YA book by Veronica Roth, is set to hit theaters nationwide on March 21. You can check out the new posters below.
