Alicia Keys is A Mom (Again)!

Huge congratulations are in order for Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz! On Saturday, December 27, Keys gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, and although we only have social media to go by, it definitely sounds like Mom couldn't possibly be more thrilled to welcome her little one into the world. According to the happy announcement Keys made on Instagram, baby Genesis Ali Dean was born at 1:52 a.m., weighing in at a healthy 6 pounds, 5 ounces.

Keys and Beatz first dropped their pregnancy bomb in July while celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary, so if it seems like Keys wasn't pregnant for very long, it's because she waited until she started showing to announce the good news. Not that I blame her, of course — who wants to be pregnant and deal with paparazzi bugging you about your unborn baby any longer than you absolutely have to? And even though no photos of Genesis have been shared just yet, we do have a small piece of evidence of his existence: his tiny footprints.

If only Genesis could have held out for a few more days. Maybe he could've been one of the first babies born in 2015! Timing aside, though, he did happen to be born to two pretty good parents. Keys has said recently that her first child with Beatz, a four-year-old named Egypt, is excited to be a big brother, so I'm sure there will be extra excitement in the coming year for their family.

Congratulations, you guys! I'm a little disappointed you didn't decide to name the baby something more musical, but I'm willing to forgive you if you can supply us with adorable baby pictures.
