Miley Cyrus Freed Her Nipples On Instagram
Everyone already knows how much Instagram dislikes nudity, and how it especially seems to be against any images involving nipples. I’m pretty sure Rihanna — whose Instagram account was deleted for her many topless photos — and Chelsea Handler — who too likes to let her breasts go free despite Instagram’s wishes — could probably vouch for me when it comes to that statement. Yet of course, because of the #FreeTheNipple campaign, which began as a film, but is now a movement toward equality (it’s illegal for women to be topless in 35 states, according to the campaign website), celebrities and non-celebrities everywhere are embracing their nipples. So of course, Miley Cyrus posted a topless photo to Instagram this weekend to support the cause.
This isn’t at all unusual for Cyrus, who has posted topless — but typically censored — images of herself on social media numerous times in the past, and who has also posed nude for various magazines. I mean the girl sat naked on a wrecking ball, so we all know she’s totally embraced her body, which is why the singer is so awesome. She’s just being Miley, y’all.
“Some lame ass deff gonna [flag] that but f—kkkkkkk it,” Cyrus captioned her Instagram photo. “#practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #FreedatShit.”
Cyrus was right, because her photo didn’t go unseen for long, which isn’t surprising with her millions of followers. It didn’t take much time before Instagram caught wind of her free nipples and decided to yet again show its stance against nudity. However, with Twitter’s support of women letting their nipples go free, the photo still remains on the Internet for all to see, encouraging others to join the movement. You go girl!
