I can't actually think of how an actor would properly prepare for a role like the one of Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation, so, hey — maybe this is totally normal in the realm of preparing for a role that includes a lot a lot of sex. But, out of context, it honestly just sounds kind of hilarious: According to The Hollywood Reporter , Jamie Dornan's pre-Fifty Shades of Grey role preparation included visiting a sex dungeon before film production began, because METHOD ACTING.
Nah, kidding, he was really just there to watch.
This hilarious tidbit of info came from Dornan's upcoming interview with Elle UK to promote the release of Fifty Shades, which is set to hit theaters next year. Though the interview won't be released until the February issue of the magazine, some teasers were thankfully released, including the sex dungeon story. Tell us, Dornan:
"I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did ... whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives," he explained. "I was like, 'Come on, guys. I know I'm not paying for this, but I am expecting a show.' It was an interesting evening. Then going back to my wife and newborn baby afterwards ... I had a long shower before touching either of them."
OK, OK, truth be told, it actually sounds more awkward than hilarious for Dornan. Then again, he did go on to play Christian Grey soon after, so who knows — maybe when we all see the movie, it'll be evident the experience did help out in the end?
