Rihanna's Newest Fashion Feat Is Unexpected
Rihanna is no stranger to the fashion industry. Famed for her provocative, boundary-pushing outfits, fashion houses have been tapping into her style powers for years now. With a successful collection for British high-street brand, River Island, already in check, Riri knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to design. Now, Rihanna has been named the creative director for Puma, announced Tuesday.
The first thing that comes to mind is how the heck did Puma get Rihanna?! This is definitely one of the most genius collaborations yet. According to WWD, Puma has been looking to make a complete image overhaul in attempts to appear as a contemporary sports brand that also sells a certain lifestyle. Well, with #BadGalRiRi on their team, they can consider the mission accomplished.
Rihanna, who has already had her first creative session with Puma's design team in Germany, is said to be very involved in the entire process. She will have a hand in customizing the brand's classic fitness and training lines as well as creating brand new apparel and shoe styles with her personal touch all over them.
In addition to her involvement in the creative process, the A-list songstress and celebrated fashion icon will also be fronting the ad campaign for Puma's Fall 2015 offering. Creative director, fashion designer, singer, and model all at the same time? Is there anything she hasn't conquered yet?
Riri took to Instagram to announce the exciting partnership. Clearly, she's proud.
