From Kendall Jenner to Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber has been at the center of plenty of dating rumors in the past few months. It's hard to figure out what's even going on in his love life anymore. Most recently? Bieber has been spotted with Hailey Baldwin (Stephen Baldwin's 18-year-old daughter), so of course people assume those two are dating too. Instead of letting the rumors live on, Justin Bieber said he's "super single" on Instagram on Monday. Not just single — super single. Thanks for clarifying, Biebs! He posted a black-and-white photo with Baldwin, along with the following caption:
People are crazy. I'm super single and this is my good friend u would know otherwise
That settles that! This isn't the first time the idea has been shot down. Earlier this month, Baldwin discussed her friendship with Bieber in an interview with E! News, saying,
I've known him since I was so young — since I was like 13 — and we've just been good friends over the years. We have just stayed close and there's nothing more to it than that.
See? It's purely platonic. It's totally unfair that just because two people hang out, it's automatically assumed they're dating. I know this happens to celebrities on a daily basis, but still, I can understand their annoyance at the whole thing. They're allowed to have friends too!
Soon after Bieber shared that photo, Baldwin took a moment to call the rumors "silly," via Twitter.
Not only did Bieber and Baldwin defend themselves, Kylie Jenner — aka the queen of perfectly timed Twitter sass — stood up for them as well. That's because some sources claimed that Kendall Jenner and Chris Brown had a double date with Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber. I know, even typing that sentence sounds ridiculous. Apparently all four of them hung out on Sunday at a nightclub, hence those rumors. When a source called the girls "their hoes," Kylie wasn't having it.
Sure, Kylie didn't address the dating aspect, but she cleared up the fact that her sister is way classier than that and the comment was out of line. While they're certainly not "hoes," Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner have been quite the Instagram besties lately — even wearing matching outfits and pajamas. Does this mean people will assume they're dating next? (I'm kidding and just trying to point out the absurdity of the rumors that imply all friends are couples.)
As for Biebs, he may not have anyone in his love life at the moment, but at least he still has Selena Gomez's respect. Just last week, she confirmed that she's single, but will always "have love for" Justin. And although my head hurts from trying to sort out these young love triangles, at least we can take comfort in Bieber's words: if he is dating someone, we'll know. So let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief, OK?
