Sorry, but if you were one of the many holding out for this talented man to become your husband, then we have some bad news. Eddie Redmayne married Hannah Bagshawe on Monday, Dec. 15 after almost three years together during their "Winter Wonderland" themed wedding. First reported by Us Weekly, they said "I do" at the Babington House in Somerset, England, with the venue lit by beautiful candles, per an insider. They tied the knot at 5:30 p.m. local time.
Redmayne's rep confirmed their nuptials to Just Jared in the following statement:
I am happy to confirm that Hannah Bagshawe and Eddie Redmayne married today. They celebrated with a small number of close family and friends.
In June, The Theory of Everything 's star engagement was confirmed after he popped the question to his then girlfriend, who also happens to be his publicist. Well, a huge congrats to the happy couple! This is just one more special event Redmayne can add to his long list of accomplishments and successes, so far. Currently, he's receiving much recognition, like a 2015 Golden Globe nomination, for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
No further details have been unveiled, but there's no doubt that Redmayne was excited to get married. As he told E! News, "You only get one shot arranging a wedding, so we're doing our best. We've planned this long in advance, so it's the most wonderful thing." He added, "I'm desperate. I'm chomping at the bit. I can't wait to be married."
Only one question really remains: did he or did he not serenade his reported new bride? Let's hope the Les Miserables actor did!
