With awards season in full effect, everyone is getting ready to see how the stars dress, who takes home an award, and who gets nominated — just like with yesterday's 2015 Golden Globe noms. As thrilling as it is to get up at the crack of dawn (especially if you're on the West Coast) to watch the nominations and then finally see who's lucky enough to be dubbed a winner come awards night, it can be even more exciting to watch the hosts in action, like this year's Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I don't know if I'd even watch the show without these two leading ladies. OK, yes, I would, but they're just another reason to do so.
The comediennes have previously stated that this will be the last year for their hosting duties, which means it's time to start selecting next year's host(s). Well, I have two amazingly talented men who can sweep any room off its feet with their dancing, singing, and joke-telling abilities. I'm talking about Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston.
Wouldn't they make a fantastic duo for the Golden Globes? I have no doubt everyone agrees with me about this hosting idea, but just in case here are a few reasons why Hiddleston and Cumberbatch would be the perfect hosting choice.
They're Relevant
There's not a day that goes by that these two aren't talked about, especially at Bustle. From Hiddleston's role as Loki to Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game and Sherlock, these two know how to stay relevant. Is it even possible to get sick of Cumberbatch and Hiddleston? In the words of Kevin McCallister, "I don't think so."
They Have Huge Fan Bases
If the Golden Globes and NBC are in need of good ratings, then Cumberbatch and Hiddleston can deliver. If we combine their fan bases, the Cumberbitches and the Hiddlestoners, with the usual viewers, there is no doubt that ratings would go through the roof.
They Sing and Dance
Don't most awards show need a number that includes singing and dancing (ahem... Oscar host Neil Patrick Harris)? Well, if that's the route the Golden Globes want to take, then Hiddleston and Cumberbatch surely won't disappoint.
They Tell Jokes
You can't have a successful awards show without humor. Luckily, Hiddleston and Cumberbatch both have a fantastic sense of humor worthy of them hosting an awards show like the Golden Globes.
They're Willing to Dress Up in Costume
As actors, these two have experience dressing up as characters. Now, I don't know if they'd do it for an awards show, but I have a feeling these two are up for anything.
They're Honest
The same as having a good sense of humor, hosts also need to be honest. If you can't get up on stage and make fun of others by incorporating some honesty into each joke, then the show is going to fall flat.
They Have a Good Rapport
These two are real life besties. Ever since Hiddleston and Cumberbatch met on War Horse, they have been inseparable. The fact that they are best friends would make for one great Golden Globes.
