This New 'Insurgent' Trailer Is Intense

Back in my day, teen films were filled with dream boats who would perform entire synchronized dances at the prom and angsty babes hiding behind glasses and baggy pants. Nowadays the kids are all into the mazes and the Mockingjays and the not-too-distant dystopian futures where the fate of a wrecked humanity lies in the hands of brave young women. Oh how the times have changed! I used to walk a mile to school in... nevermind, I digress. The trailer for Insurgent , the second film in the Divergent series, was just released and it is intense, to say the very least.

There are high-speed chases, Matrix-level forms of mind control, and tons of things that go ,"KER-SMASH!" There's also one tough-as-nails Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) and an unshakeable Tris (Shailene Woodley). Plus, there's a box that apparently can only be opened by "The One" — so therefore Tris has to fight herself. Kids today, I tells ya!

Insurgent has the total "us against the world" vibe and, though the troupe of rebels might be small, they are mighty. (Didn't they see 300 or any of the Lord of the Rings movies? C'mon, you guys got this.) The first trailer released for Insurgent focused more on the personal stories inside of the film, but this new one totally sells the action... and even a little steamy action, if you know what I mean (you know what I mean). Check out the new clip and get ready for battle.
