No one can say Rihanna doesn't support the Free the Nipple campaign. Even if she hasn't exactly voiced an opinion on the movement that is meant to promote female empowerment, she did retweet an article about Scout Willis walking topless through the streets of NYC. And if her outfit choices this year are any indication, RiRi loves to let her girls be free, nipples and all. But since society still frowns upon general public nudity, Rihanna seems to enjoy letting her clothes (or lack thereof) get her as close to naked as possible (while still being fashionable, of course). So until the world is clothing optional, here are seven times Rihanna left the house in an almost-naked state.
Lingerie in April
Rihanna wore a translucent robe over a matching bustier to the MTV Movie Awards, proving she kind of, sort of knows what it means to wear clothes that actually cover.
See Through in May
At the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Rihanna went with a sheer, embroidered dress over some black lingerie. Still pretty tame.
Barely Wrapped in January
Rihanna wore a floor-length gown to the Pre-Grammy Gala. While it may sound modest, her wrap-style dress was only loosely cinched at the waist, leaving much exposed.
Side Boob in December
The Barbados beauty wore a loose-fitting tuxedo jacket to the British Fashion Awards. Even if her nipples couldn’t be free, at least her side boob was.
Freed Nipple in March
Rihanna took her iHeartRadio Music Awards look up a notch when she wore a sheer embroidered top during Paris Fashion Week. She included a shawl to possibly, maybe, totally not cover up.

Nearly Naked in June
Rihanna wore a totally sheer dress over only a nude thong to the CFDA awards where she was honored with the 2014 Fashion Icon Award. Does that mean it’s just a matter of time before we’re all wearing pasties and see-through shirts?
