Kate Hudson's Split With Matthew Bellamy Reminded Us of Her 20 Best Boho Glam Hair Looks
Kate Hudson and Muse singer Matthew Bellamy, her fiance and father of her adorbs son Bing, are O-V-E-R. Hudson and Bellamy announced their split, offering up the somewhat cliched "still friends and committed parents" statement about their current status. The news that Hudson, who is the epitome of boho glam chic, is now uncoupled prompted me to look back at some of her very best hair looks.
Hudson is known for her beachy blonde waves, which are quintessentially Cali girl, but she often goes sleek and straight, too. She can also be counted on to rock a big, Old Hollywood glam wave from time to time. Here, her 20 best 'dos of all time.
Bunhead
Hudson’s golden bun, piled high at the back of her head, was dramatic and romantic.
Wave Cascade
Hudson looked like she stepped off the beach after a day of surfing and onto the red carpet, thanks to this effortless tangle of curls and waves.
Center-Parted '60s Update
Hudson also updated the center-parted, ’60s bombshell hair with loose, undefined waves in a buttery, glossy hue. She looked oh-so-naturally-gorgeous.
Faux Bob
Seriously, though, how amazeballs does Kate the Great look with a faux bob?
Almost a Beehive
This major bun at the crown was almost a beehive, without being retro.
Stick Straight
Hudson doesn’t often go stick straight. But since her hair is thick and textured, when she does do a sleek look, her hair appears extra lush.
Golden Girl
The actress usually rocks a bright blonde hue, but these messy, golden, and disheveled waves were flawless too.
Crazy Curly
This is the kinda coif that makes straight-haired girls want to get a perm.
Swept Away
Hudson’s swept back ponytail was another example of ‘do and go. While on some this might look like gym hair, on her, it’s crazy chic.
Multi-Dimensional Waves
These are the kind of familiar soft blonde waves that have made Hudson a bit of a hair icon of her generation.

Rose Gold
This rose gold tint, which was so softly pink, was the “wow factor” that made her hair pop without looking ridiculously out of character.
Piecey Updo
The sideswept front of this piecey updo almost mimicked side bangs.
Old Hollywood
Old. Hollywood. Glam. This style made a case for using a curling iron or heat styling tool on the regular.
Shorter Layers
This was a shorter-than-we’re-used-to take on her signature blonde waves, with more visible, movable layers.
One-Shoulder Wow
Hudson’s sleek and layered blowout was a one-shoulder wow.
Don't Forget Your Roots
Dark roots were on full display with this pushed back updo, but it totally fit her boho style.
Poufy Updo
While that laugh and smile are totally infectious, her textured, loose, and poufy updo was glam but fun. The texture prevented the height from being stiff and mirthless. So did her smile.
Mermaid Braid
Hudson certainly gave off the beachy boho vibe and this piecey, messy and, mermaid-like braid — I think that’s a braid — is another instance of just-outta-the-ocean hair.
Ultimate Boho Chic
Want to know what boho chic is? This simple hair is it. Kate Hudson is the best at that whole wash-and-go thing.
