Madonna And Versace Are Back Together

by Amy Sciarretto

Lady Gaga, out. Madonna, in. And I'm not talking about those pop charts, either! The Gaga x Madonna rivalry is pretty infamous, and now there's more fuel to stoke the fire: Madonna is the new face of Versace, replacing Lady Gaga, for the designer's Spring /Summer 2015 campaign. Madonna and Versace are back together, y'all, and she shows us how to make an LBD look fresh in the first images.

In her ads, Her Madgesty owns her LBDs, looking mighty fine in an laser cut, leather-look frock that any women of any age would want to wear.

In case you are not a fashion historian, Madonna was the face of Versace back in the '90s and in the '00s, so this is clearly a cyclical partnership for her. However, what's new is the fact that this is the first time her ads were shot by famed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Gaga was perma-tanned like a Kardashian and rocking center-parted, majorly long platinum hair, in homage to that bad bitch Donatella Versace herself, in her ads. Madonna's have a much more classic vibe.

Madonna looks pretty damn amazing at 56, no doubt. But given the near-flawlessness and angles of these photos, I'm pretty sure the Photoshop arguments will commence in the blogosphere.

That pose is fierce. But that dress? I want it. Now.

Strike a pose. There's nothing to it. Vogue.

More Madge x Versace fierceness. Why would you want to wear anything but a straight, skinny strap LBD after seeing this?

It's all about the eyes and that watch (!!!) in this snap.
